Watching the recorded sessions of this spring's General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I came across this talk by Elder W. Craig Zwick that ought to have been called "NVC for Mormons"!
Zwick tells a touching story about him and his wife, and talks about compassionate communication as found in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. During this season of challenging communication in my own relationships, I so needed to hear St. Paul's beautiful call to Nonviolent Communication:
"Let
no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is
good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers."
